Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. She relocated to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five where she attended an academy called the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma realized she would like to be an actress. For many years she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied singing dancing and acting. At the age of 10, she had performed and taken part in many Stagecoach shows and school productions. The casting process began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's first film appearance coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film set records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and became the top-grossing movie of the year 2001. Critics gave high praise to the film, and especially the young performers. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Emma received five nominations for her outstanding performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of an Film.
